Snorkel and Bambarra Rum Tasting
Escape the crowds as you snorkel and relax at a small, intimate Grand Turk resort offering beach, bars, water activities, and the best restaurant on the island. After taking a taxi from the port area, you will arrive and be welcomed as a guest.
At check-in, the staff will schedule your snorkel departure. There are hammocks under palm trees, an uncrowded beach to comb, and a small beach bar where you can purchase a fruit punch or just sit and let the world melt away.
At the appointed time, you will meet your snorkeling boat at water's edge and head out in your small group, usually fewer than eight, to the famous Grand Turk Wall, 300 yards directly off the beach. Total time for the boat snorkel is approximately one hour. You will have the chance to see colorful sponges, coral, an abundance of tropical fish, and you may even catch sight of an eagle ray, stingray, turtle or dolphin. Your snorkeling gear is included.
In addition to snorkeling, your Grand Turk excursion also includes a tasting of the local Bambarra rums. Bambarra rum takes its name from the home of the African settlers who were delivered on the local shores aboard the wrecked slave trader Trouvadore in 1841. You will sample a light rum and an amber rum, and learn how to taste and appreciate these smoothly blended sugar cane rums. You will finish your tasting with a reserve rum that is a select blend of Caribbean rums aged in American oak barrels. After your tasting, you will be treated to a cocktail made with the rum you liked best from the tasting.
As this special site is not designed for crowds, there is a maximum number of spaces available each day for this Grand Turk shore excursion. Please book early to avoid disappointment. Tour duration is up to guest's discretion based on when they arrive and depart. It is the guest's responsibility to return to their ship by the ship's posted all aboard time.

Bradford J. Miller
Mr. Miller is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Abercrombie & Kent, the World's leading luxury travel company. In that role, Mr. Miller was responsible for contributing to Abercrombie & Kent's international growth through the development and acquisition of tour products and travel experiences around the world with a specific focus on cruising and land based experiences. Prior to joining Abercrombie & Kent, Mr. Miller held a variety of executive positions with Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises for more than a decade. These positions included Vice President of Guest Sales & Service, Vice President of Brand Development, and Vice President of Onboard Revenue (which included shore excursions). Mr. Miller also led Celebrity Expeditions, a collection of outstanding and unique tours around the World.
Michael Bonner
Mr. Bonner has over a decade of experience working in the cruise industry in a variety of roles for both Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Viking River Cruises. Most recently, Mr. Bonner was the Chief Operating Officer for The Scholar Ship, a Royal Caribbean program aimed at providing college students onboard educational programs in conjunction with enriching shore excursions around the world. Mr. Bonner also helped co-manage Viking River Cruises U.S. Operations, and he ran the corporate, strategic, and deployment planning functions at Royal Caribbean. While at Royal Caribbean, Mr. Bonner was responsible for forming Royal Celebrity Tours, Royal Caribbean's land-based tour operation in Alaska, which takes cruise passengers on multiple day tours through the interior of Alaska either before or after their cruises. Prior to working at Royal Caribbean, Mr. Bonner was a consultant for Booz Allen & Hamilton.
